Cake and coffee is a perfect combination for dessert lovers. You can easily try your hands on this delicious recipe this holiday season.

  • Soft butter and extra for greasing purpose- 200g
  • Baking powder- 1tbsp
  • Cocoa powder- 85g
  • Self rasing flour- 140g
  • Golden caster sugar- 200g
  • Milk- 2 tsp
  • Eggs- 4

For filing and icing

  • Mascarpone tubs – 2 x 250g
  • Golden caster sugar- 85 g
  • Extremely strong coffee- 4 tsp
  • Dark chocolate for grating- 50g



Line the tins and heat the oven and make the sponge sandwich. Sift the flour with cocoa powder and baking powder. 

Beat the sugar and mascarpone together. 

Once done, beat the coffee well. 

To sandwich the cake, use this mix in half quantity and scatter the remaining on the top. Swirl this mixture with the back of a spoon and create pointed curls. 

Grate the dark chocolate thoroughly over the cake and serve it.
